She is not beautiful, but this girl makes us directly think of Goya’s family portraits of great psychological insight. Her eyes are quite disturbing, the soul is very present, and we don’t know whether she is a little crazy or pretends to become a saint ! The artist obtains this spectacular effect mainly through the sensitive colour application. This striking portrait was Dick Beer’s last work.
